Tihai - one of the most commonly used terms in the rhythm (Taal)system of Indian classical music refers to a phrase of certainnumber of beats which is played three times separated by a fixedinterval. The phrase length is typically referred to as 'Matra' andthe fixed interval as 'Gap'.
The Tabla Tihai Helper app is developed to help musicians easilyunderstand the concept of tabla and tihai. It provides an unlimitednumber of tihai patterns for all beat cycles ranging from 4 (ChotaKeherva) to 16 (Teen Taal) in including half beat cycles (e.g. 8.5beat cycle). You can view the tihai patterns and listen to thetabla tihai sound for clear understanding.
