A group of friends who knew nothing abouthospitality fell in love with this estate, opened since January2009 and that was forgotten in the heart of Alentejo, on the banksof the Maranhão Dam, in Portalegre district. This group of friendsquickly identified with the site and involved in entrepreneurialspirit and instead of asking “why?" they asked "why not?"

This four star hotel was born with nature and with the intention torespect nature. For this reason, the main concern of architectsPedro Alte da Veiga and Klaus Gruner was to integrate a modern,comfortable space in the Alentejo landscape, open to the field andin compliance with the new rules on energy efficiency.
