Description

Interfaces - NetAssistant Tool allows theuserto create a Network Devices Inventory of Cisco IOS Routersbylocation and running the appropriate device interfacelevelcommands to collect and monitor basic network interfaceinformationfrom the active devices.

The first-time Tool user needs to "Sign Up" first followingtheinstallation of the Tool to define a local user and password;thencreate a Network by clicking on the "Create Network" buttontofill-in the Network name and Details fields. Multiple networkaresupported at the same time to meet and to enhance userpreferencesin viewing networks.

From the created list of Networks the user can access adefinednetwork to generate a Map where they can apply a long touchon thescreen on the location of the Router device to see a Ciscoroutericon followed by a short click on the device icon to get thepopupbubble.

This free package is limited to only 3 Networks with 3Deviceseach.

The popup bubble for each of the defined Router devicesincludesa "Settings" icon which links the user to the device'scredentialswhich the user needs to fill-in as per the actualrouterconfiguration.

The information to fill-in are:

1. The Router's IP Address or DNS Name
2. The Router's UserName (or HTTP Client UserName)
3. The router Password (or HTTP Client User Password)

The Network router commands profile is accessed by clickingonthe device popup bubble in the area of the device name/ip andtheicon.

The Tool is designed for Cisco IOS based network routersandswitches.

The Tool exploits the HTTP Server IOS feature architecturebyapplying the [ip http server] command. The user needs to definetheappropriate

username and password from the device and has the opportunitytoalso create an HTTP client user and associated password foreachdefined

device credentials in the inventory.

The Cisco IOS Router Interface Commands supported on thispackageare:

Show Interface Description command

This command displays each of the device's interfaceprotocolstatus and alias.

Show Interface Summary command

This command shows summary of statistics for all interfacesthatare configured on the monitored networking router.

Show Interface Statistics command:

This command retrieves and displays interface statisticsonpackets & octets, inbound & outbound, by switchingpath

Show IP Interface Brief

This command displays a brief summary of the interfaces onadevice. Its useful for quickly checking the status ofthedevice.
