Their debut album SremmLife was released onJanuary 6,2015. The name "Rae Sremmurd" is derived from the duo'shome label,EarDrummers, by spelling each word backwards.

The duo are best known for their 2016 single "Black Beatles"whichpeaked at number 1 on the US Billboard Hot 100, while alsochartingin the top ten in territories across the world. The singlefeaturedon their second album, SremmLife 2 which was released in2016 topositive reviews.
