Description

The club played its first two seasons in theVJCA, enjoying success, and after joining the Victorian SubDistrict Cricket Association (VSDCA) in 1973, we have played inthis competition for 39 years. The VSDCA consists of 28 clubs,playing cricket across the Melbourne metropolitan area.

During this time, the club has won 21 premierships includingfour in the first grade.

Australian Test player and former national selector Merv Hughesstarted his cricket career at Werribee CC, and the club has helpedproduced many quality players including current South AustraliaRedbacks player Daniel Worrall and Victorian Under 19representatives Travis and Shaun Dean. Many Werribee CC playershave progressed to District ranks.

The club plays regular cricket between October and March at bothChirnside Park (1sts and 2nds) and Soldiers Reserve (3rds and 4ths)in Werribee, on Saturdays and some Sundays. The club also enters ateam in the Twenty20 Twilight league run the by the VSDCA onTuesday Nights.

With the support of members and sponsors, the club now aims towrite a whole new chapter in its history.

During this time the club has come up with some fantastic ideasand innovative plans to ensure the strength of the club continueslong in to the future.

One of the main areas the club was looking to improve on was theway in which it was currently communicating with its players,members, supporters and sponsors.

With a forward thinking and a dynamic board the club wasactively pursuing different methods which would enable them toimprove on their existing communication channels.

After conducting a review of all the options available to themthe club is pleased to announce the release of their first evernative mobile phone app for Android.

The app will be branded in the famous black and yellow of theWerribee Cricket Club and the content available to users in the appwill contain information about the club.
