Robert Gore was born in 1958 inLivermore,California. He grew up in Los Alamos, New Mexico, whereboth hisparents worked for the Los Alamos National Laboratory.Hisundergraduate education was at UCLA. He graduated in 1980 summacumlaude and Phi Beta Kappa with a double major in economicsandpolitical science. He completed the JD/MBA program at UCBerkeleyin 1984. He held part-time jobs throughout undergraduateandgraduate school. He passed the bar exam and is an inactivememberof the California Bar Association.

Mr. Gore’s career in finance began in 1984 with a bank inSanFrancisco, trading municipal bonds. In 1985, he went to aWallStreet firm’s west coast municipal bond office in Los Angelesas abond trader. He developed its block and institutionalsalescapabilities and after four years was promoted to manager oftheregion.

In 1990, Mr. Gore went to a private partnership, headquarteredinLos Angeles, which served a high net worth clientelethroughoutSouthern California, as head of the firm’s fixed incomedivision.In 1991, he became one of the youngest partners in thefirm’shistory. The fixed income division was consistently amongthefirm’s most profitable and in 2003, he was named to theexecutivecommittee. He wrote a market commentary that wasdistributed to thefirm’s clients. Already known for his prescientcalls, in 2006 hebegan warning of a looming housing debacle andfinancial crisis.His family sold their house and he set up aproprietary tradingdesk to capitalize on the situation. Hisprediction was initiallynot popular with his firm’s financialadvisors, but it ended upsaving their clients a great deal of moneyand he has garnered asubstantial following. His current prediction:the worst is yet tocome.

Mr. Gore is a past president of the Los Angeles Municipal BondClub.He has made appearances on television and radio shows as anexpertin fixed income securities and California municipal bonds.He hasbeen quoted in the Los Angeles Times and the Orange CountyRegisterand had a letter published in the Financial Times.

In July of 2012, Mr. Gore retired from financial services todevotefull-time to his writing. His first novel, The Gordian Knot,alegal thriller and courtroom drama, was published by theWritersClub Press, an imprint of iUniverse.com, in 2000 (Amazonlink). Hissecond novel, The Golden Pinnacle, is now available onAmazon.
