والحكيم هو شخصٌ عاقل يرجح الامور نحو الصواب بما امتلكه من خبرات عبرتجاربه في الحياة . وقد شهد تاريخ الإنسانية العديد من الحكماء العربوغير العرب ،
حيث تعتبر جزءاً من التقاليد والعادات التي يجب أن يراعيها الإنسانأثناء تأدية أعماله اليومية بغض النظر عن الدين والعرق والقومية.
حيث عرف بعضهم أن الحكمة عمل ما ينبغي كما ينبغي في الوقت الذي ينبغيأي بما معناهُ وضع الأمور في نصابها ،
حيث هناك حكم اصلحت للتطبيق لمختلف العصور فكانت عميقة المعنى وبعضمنها ما لا يصلح إلا زمن من الأزمنة فتكون سطحية المعنى وقد تأتيالحكمة في النثر والشعر

أبو حفص عمر بن الخطاب العدوي القرشي، المُلقب بالفاروق، هو ثانيالخلفاء الراشدين ومن كبار أصحاب الرسول محمد، وأحد أشهر الأشخاصوالقادة في التاريخ الإسلامي ومن أكثرهم تأثيرًا ونفوذًا. هو أحدالعشرة المبشرين بالجنة، ومن علماء الصحابة وزهّادهم. تولّى الخلافةالإسلامية بعد وفاة أبي بكر الصديق في 23 أغسطس سنة 634م، الموافقللثاني والعشرين من جمادى الثانية سنة 13 هـ. كان ابن الخطّاب قاضيًاخبيرًا وقد اشتهر بعدله وإنصافه الناس من المظالم، سواء كانوا مسلمينأو غير مسلمين، وكان ذلك أحد أسباب تسميته بالفاروق، لتفريقه بين الحقوالباطل.
هو مؤسس التقويم الهجري، وفي عهده بلغ الإسلام مبلغًا عظيمًا، وتوسعنطاق الدولة الإسلامية حتى شمل كامل العراق ومصر وليبيا والشام وفارسوخراسان وشرق الأناضول وجنوب أرمينية وسجستان، وهو الذي أدخل القدستحت حكم المسلمين لأول مرة وهي ثالث أقدس المدن في الإسلام، وبهذااستوعبت الدولة الإسلامية كامل أراضي الإمبراطورية الفارسية الساسانيةوحوالي ثلثيّ أراضي الامبراطورية البيزنطية. تجلّت عبقرية عمر بنالخطاب العسكرية في حملاته المنظمة المتعددة التي وجهها لإخضاع الفرسالذين فاقوا المسلمين قوة، فتمكن من فتح كامل إمبراطوريتهم خلال أقلمن سنتين، كما تجلّت قدرته وحنكته السياسية والإدارية عبر حفاظه علىتماسك ووحدة دولة كان حجمها يتنامى يومًا بعد يوم ويزداد عدد سكانهاوتتنوع أعراقها.
