NOTE: This widget is a plug-in for the business cardsviewerCarda Lite and/or Carda Pro. You must first install at leastone ofthose two apps in order to use this free widget. Please readwhatCarda Lite and Carda Pro do on their respective Google PlayStorepages (or, we summarize a little bit of it, below). If youwouldlike a free solution, simply so you may use this free ICEwidget,then choose Carda Lite; and then as long as you have itinstalledon your phone, play with it a little and see how nice itwould befor your other business card uses, including using ourregularwidget. Please, though, also consider Carda Pro'spowerfuladditional features. Regardless, this free ICE widget workswitheither the free Carda Lite, or the more feature-rich CardaPro.
DESCRIPTION: Carda is an electronic business card case andviewerwhich allows you to store, organize and display any businesscardright on your smartphone screen; and then -- and this is partof themagic of it -- if there happens to be anything on the backof thecard, Carda will graphically flip it over, right on thescreen.Seriously: it actually graphically flips, front-to-back,andback-to-front... it's quite visually impressive. THERE ARE TWO FREE CARDA WIDGETS...
Our regular widget is for displaying business cards(or,actually, any other kind of card in your wallet, fromcredit/debitcards, to library cards, to discount cards... you nameit). Once acard is assigned to our regular widget, then when saidwidget ispressed on your HOME screen, the full-sized card -- thefront and,then, if flipped, the back, too -- will display onyoursmartphone's screen. You may have as many widgets, with asmanydifferent business cards assigned to each, as you like.
The other widget, though -- this ICE widget -- is reallyspecialbecause it is dedicated to the task of displaying the frontandback of a common medical information card -- which tellsparamedicsall about you and your health situation -- just like whatyou mayalready be carrying in your wallet!
There are many ICE smartphone apps out there -- some freeandsome not -- and many of which are actually quite good.However,emergency first responders (police officers, paramedics,firefighters, etc.) tell us that sometimes those apps can actuallyslowdown emergency personnel's ability to obtain theneededinformation. Yes, all the information is there in those apps,butfirst responders tell us that each ICE app is different, andsothey have to slow down and learn how to use each new one thattheyencounter...
...all while the patient's condition deteriorates duringtheprecious minutes that the first responder is suffering throughthatlearning curve! Those comprehensive ICE apps are great, but iftheyslow down your care, then they're not worth it!
What first responders are really used to is just looking atamedical information card in the patient's wallet. That'smuchsimpler and faster, they tell us. However, some of them alsotoldus that if they could read the front and back of apatient'smedical information card -- the same one in their wallet-- righton the patient's smartphone screen, as easily as ourregular Cardawidget displays a regular business or credit orlibrary card, thenthat would be just perfect!
So that's what we've now done! And it's the only ICE app ofitstype in the entire Google Play Store... and it's free, too!
