Evicardio was designed to provide the clinician and investigatorwith a database of more than 800 randomized clinical trials incardiology, than may collaborate in the evidence base clinicalpractice. The application includes four main tools Clinical trialsdatabase New data calculator My trials (a personal database withnew data) Evidence based cardiology manual (only in Spanish) 1)Clinical trials database The information may be consultedtraditionally as abstracts, and more powerfully with twostatistical "calculators": a)Clinical trials events: Evaluatesdrug/intervention trials with the parameters of evidence basedmedicine (EBM): statistical significance, absolute risk reduction(ARR), risk reduction (RR), relative risk reduction (RRR), numbernecessary to treat NNT, and odds ratio (OR); b) Metaanalysis: toevaluate with the method of Mantel Hanszel Peto the main effect ofseries of clinical trials. Trials may be selected using 4 criteriaof search (acronym, drug/intervention, therapeutic group, disease)and each event can be analyzed individually or in an overviewgrouping essays with similar designs. The analysis can be saved inyour personal archive. 2) New data calculator Evicardio allows youto enter new trials in your personal database, using this twocalculators (events in a single trial, metaanalysis of many trialsand a third for Diagnostic tests: to evaluate diagnostic methods(sensitivity, specificity, positive and negative predictive value,likelihood ratio, post test) and also gives you the chance tochange the prevalence in order to estimate the probability indifferent risk populations. All the data can be saved and accedeafterwards in your personal database. 3) My trials You can keep inyour file new information read from the papers, or add to previousmetaanalysis new data.
