명성교회, 놀라운 하나님의 역사
명성교회는 하나님의 사랑을 전하는 소리, 복음의 빛을 바라는 교회로 이 땅의 기독교 역사의 새 장을 열며 새벽기도로한국교회 부흥의 불을 지폈습니다. 오직 주님만을 따르는 교회, 세상에 속한 교회가 아니라 세상이 감당치 못하는 참 교회의모습으로 명성교회는 21세기 한국교회의 새역사를 이루어가고 있습니다.

1980년 7월 6일 서울 강동구 명일동 상가건물 2층에 십자가를 세우며 서울의 작은 동네 명일동의 새벽을 깨우는명성교회의 첫 예배가 시작되었습니다. 20명으로 시작된 첫 예배, 하나님이 아시고 정하신바 대로 소박하게 시작된명성교회는 시간이 흐르면서 그 영향력의 빛을 점점 세상에 드러내기 시작했습니다.

‘오직주님’과 ‘칠년을 하루같이’라는 목표를 삼고 개척 3년 만에 첫 번째 성전을 건축하였습니다. 주일예배와 새벽기도회,삼일기도회와 철야기도회 등 기도의 불을 끄지 않고 오직 주님만을 따르며 의지하는 교회. 하나님의 뜻을 이 땅위에 드러내는신실한 교회로 하나님의 주신 소명을 기쁘게 감당하고 있습니다.
