Description

Ripaille is perfectly located on the banks ofLake Geneva. It was build in the 15th century by Amédée VIII beforebeing restored by Frédéric Engeld Gros, rich industrialist whobought the entire castle in 1892.
Visiting Ripaille will allow you to travel in time : startingwith the Dukes of Savoy around 1350, the reign of Amédée VIII,Chartreux monks owning the place in the 17th century as well as theFrench Revolution. This trip will be completed with thearchitecturally impressive adventure of not only industrialist butalso art lover Engel Gros who was restoring Ripaille in1900 !
Beside history you will also discover a preserved natural heritage,an extraordinary area, beautiful gardens betweens Lake Geneva andDent d'Oche plus the famous castle ditches.
Ripaille is also headquarters of a foundation created in 1976 whois taking care of preservation, development and event management,while preservation of the typical environment constitutes one ofits most important values.
