The Barbecue Festival of Lexington, NorthCarolina is the “Barbecue Capital of the World” and has beenrecognized nationally, regionally, and state wide for itsexcellence as one of the “Top Ten Food Festivals in America” byTravel & Leisure Magazine, a “Top Twenty October Event” by theSoutheast Tourism Society, is a part of the Library of Congress’“Local Legacy Events”, and has won more than fifty awards throughThe N.C. More than 150,000 people will attend and enjoy this “Thirty YearOld Annual Event” with the flavor of slow-cooked pork barbecueprepared by festival’s designated area restaurants and serving-upthousands of pounds of barbecue sandwiches in three large tents.
