The Onslow Vietnam Veterans Memorial stands as recognition forthenearly ten million Veterans of the five branches of theArmedForces who served on active duty during the Vietnam era;nearlythree million of whom served in the Vietnam Theater. Ithonors the303,704 service members who were wounded in Vietnam, aswell as thePOW/MIAs still unaccounted for. The glass walls thatencompass thecentral fountain are inscribed with the names of the58,229 men andwomen who lost their lives in the Vietnam War.
