Friend is an artificial friend with whom you can share yourproblems and ask for comments. Friend is a modern version of an oldprogram called Eliza.

The original Eliza application was created in 1966 by JosephWeizenbaum at MIT as an illustration of artificial intelligence andcomputational linguistics. The present Friend app has benefitedfrom the original and several other versions of Eliza published onthe net. Compared with Eliza, the Friend has been expanded,modified and modernized to be able to discuss subjects relevant inthe 2010's. The app also provides short explanation about howprograms like Eliza and Friend work.
