Proprietors Paul and Wendy HamiltonandExecutive Chef and General Manager, Ivy Magruder’s trip totheProvence region of France in 2004 was more than a time to relaxandenjoy a well deserved break. They were looking at bringing thewarmand inviting local tradition of food and wine back to St. Louistocreate their next restaurant.

So began the adventure that culminated with opening of Vin deSetin the summer of 2006 at the restored Centennial Malt House at2017Chouteau Avenue. Keeping with the theme of restaurant names,Vin deSet is the phonetic spelling of the French number “vingtdix-sept”,2017 the address.

As was the case with Eleven Eleven Mississippi, whichbroughttogether the experience of Northern California and theTuscanregion of Italy, Vin de Set puts a decidedly American twiston aFrench bistro in a way that is both comfortable andinviting.Executive Chef and General Manager Ivy Magruder explainsthe menuas “an approachable interpretation of southern Frenchcuisine.”“Our dishes are simple and straightforward concentratingon theinfluences of Provence and determined by the seasons.”
