Trayectoria
Después de graduarse de la escuela secundaria Dangond dedicadoporcompleto a la plantación artesanal de tilapias y cachamas, conelnegocio sobre el que decide realizar un factoring paraagruparsecon Roman López (Bebe Melquiades) y después de realizar enalgunasfiestas y conciertos que grabó su primer álbum en 2002llamadoTanto para ti, que incluía 12 canciones, Nada te conmuevecompuestapor Fabian Corrales, Necesito verte por Juan Manuel Pérez,No teescondas más de Felipe Peláez, Mi Encantadora egoísta porAlbertoMurgas, Quien me mando de su propia autoría, Un amor tangrande porFreddy Carrillo, Muñeca de porcelana de Luis Alonso, Queno meroben tu Corazón por Antonio Meriño, Lloraras un amor porJaimeBayona, La flor más linda de Armando Moscote, El extorsionistaporCarlos Ramírez y Tanto para ti por Freddy Carrillo. Fueduranteesta época que conoció a su amigo y también cantantevallenatoKaleth Morales, gracias a Kaleth, Dangond obtiene granparte de sufama actual, ya que éste le compuso gran parte de lascanciones queSilvestre Dangond interpretó.
Hijo de William José "El Palomo" Dangond Baquero, quien en losaños70 cantaba junto a Andrés “El Turco” Gil. Su madre, DellysCorralesRojas, fue quien seguramente le heredó su vocación, alhaber nacidoen el seno de una familia musical.
Su primer año de vida lo transcurrió en casa de sus abuelospaternosjunto a su madre. Esta experiencia familiar, en contactocon la vidade pueblo, es de donde va a tomar frescura, naturalidady sinceridadpara sus composiciones. Es en 1982 que sus padresdeciden radicarseen Valledupar. Su madre cuenta que el haber sidoun niño muy amablelogró que encontrara apoyo constante en sufamilia. Además agrega:“desde siempre mostró un interés excesivopor la música vallenato,llegando en muchas ocasiones a escaparseen horas de la noche si,por donde estuviese pernoctando, escuchabalas notas alegres de unacordeón.”
Realizó sus estudios escolares en el Jardín Nacional, dondesedestacó por ser simpático y buen compañero. Adelantó sueducaciónbásica primaria en el Colegio Colombo-Inglés y la concluyóen elColegio Parroquial El Carmelo.
En ese momento, en Valledupar ganaba primeros premios enfestivalesde canto infantil. Estos eran prueba de que suaproximación alvallenato comenzaba a afirmarse lentamente.
Según su padre, el joven entonaba canciones de su padrinoJorgeOñate ya desde temprana edad. En aquellos tiempos fue cuandolafamilia se trasladó a la capital de la república para dar aconocerel talento del pequeño.
“Coco” Zuleta fue quien le prepuso a Silvestre comenzar ahacerseconocido a través de presentaciones privadas. El entoncesamigo ycompañero fue quien reconoció el talento de la jovenestrella.Tiempo después se concretaría la oportunidad de grabar suprimerproyecto discográfico, que llegaría bajo el sello Sony Musicjuntoa Román López. Dicho trabajo, con el que incursionó en laradio, seeditó en 2002 con el nombre “Tanto Para Ti”.
