Description

California High School Exit Examination(CAHSEE) is a requirement for high school graduation in the stateof California, created by the California Department of Education toimprove the academic performance of California high schoolstudents, and especially of high school graduates, in the areas ofreading, writing, and mathematics; public school students must passthe exam before they can receive a high school diploma, regardlessof any other graduation requirements.

Students first take the test in the beginning of their sophomoreyear. If they do not pass one or both of the two test sections,then they may retake the section or sections that they have not yetpassed. Up to 2 test (or 8) opportunities are available to studentsbefore the end of their senior year.
