Hearrived in1892 and stayed until 1896, a period described byhistorians asamong his most productive years. The Rizal Shrine inthe cityrecreates the national hero’s workplace and settlement,where hetaught students, wrote poems, and attended to patients.

Dapitan Guide contains information on where to go and what todoin the city. It also contains a listing of places to stayduringyour visit. The app contains a Virtual Concierge featurethatallows users to interact with the Dapitan City Tourism Officeforinquiries and requests for assistance.

The app is offline-capable: install and then use itanywhere,even without an Internet connection.

The app is offered for free as part of the nationwideDigitalTourism collaboration of SMART Communications and InnoPubMedia,with the support of various local government units andprivategroups. In Dapitan, the program is undertaken in partnershipwiththe Dapitan City Government. The Digital Tourism program wasgivenan Anvil Award of Merit in 2014.
