Aplikasi ini dikembangkan oleh Infest Yogyakarta sejaktahun2011. Sejarah aplikasi Mitra Desa terkait dengan upaya infestdalamadvokasi isu migrasi ketenagakerjaan. Infest memandang bahwadalamproses migrasi ketenagakerjaan membutuhkan keterlibatanpemerintahdesa. Mengacu pada pengalaman tersebut, infestmencobamengembangkan aplikasi yang dapat mendokumentasikanmigrasiketenagakerjaan dari desa.

Kebutuhan pendokumentasian tersebut menghantarkan infestpadapenyusunan aplikasi sistem informasi desa yang bertujuanuntukmemudahkan pemerintah desa sekaligus memperbaiki pelayanankepadamasyarakat.

Mitra Desa versi Mobile ini bertujuan untukmenghubungkanmasyarakat terhadap data dan informasi desa. Aplikasiyang berjalandi platform Android ini menjadi mesin pembaca aplikasiMitra Desayang terpasang di server dan bisa diakses secaraonline.
