Shakira Isabel Mebarak Ripoll(pronounced:[ʃaˈkiɾa isaˈβel meβaˈɾak riˈpol]; English /ʃəˈkɪərə/born February2, 1977)is a Colombian singer, songwriter, dancer, andrecordproducer. Born and raised in Barranquilla, she beganperforming inschool, demonstrating Latin American, Arabic, and rockand rollinfluences and belly dancing abilities. Her official song for the 2010 FIFA WorldCup,"Waka Waka (This Time for Africa)", became thebiggest-sellingWorld Cup song of all time. With over a billionviews, it is one ofthe most-watched music videos on YouTube. Since2013, Shakira hasserved as a coach on the American version of TheVoice, havingappeared in two of its seven seasons—fourth and sixth.Her tenthalbum, Shakira (2014), is preceded by its lead single,"Can'tRemember to Forget You".
