All you have to do is open theHeartRateMonitorApp and then hold the tip of your index fingerover the camera lensof your phone. The entire camera preview imageshould be red with alighter area where the tip of your finger istouching. Do not presstoo hard or you will cut off circulationwhich will result in aninaccurate reading.

After a second or two, you should see the Android icon on thetopof the screen start to flash red when it senses a heart beat.Afterten seconds it will compute your heart rate and update thenumbernext to the Android icon. It'll take between ten and thirtysecondsto get an accurate heart rate.
