O Campeonato Maranhense de Futebol de 2017será a 98ª edição da competição organizada pela FederaçãoMaranhense de Futebol. A competição garantirá duas vagas na Copa doBrasil de 2018 e na Copa do Nordeste de 2018, além de duas vagas naSérie D do Brasileiro de 2018.
O Estadual terá formato com oito clube divididos em dois grupos dequatro, com os dois melhores de cada chave fazendo semifinal efinal a cada turno. A diferença do primeiro para o segundo é que asequipes jogam no inicial com equipes de seu grupo e no returno comcomponentes do agrupamento oposto.

The Maranhense FootballChampionship 2017 will be the 98th edition of the competitionorganized by Maranhense Football Federation. The competition willguarantee two seats in the Brazil Cup 2018 and the Northeast Cup in2018, and two vacancies in the Brazilian Série D 2018.
The State will format with eight club divided into two groups offour, with the top two of each key by semifinal and final everyturn. The difference from the first to the second is that teamsplaying at home with teams of their group and returno withcomponents of the opposite group.
