The East Sandringham Junior Football Club isone of the most established sporting clubs in Bayside, originallyformed in 1948.

The Club joined the Moorabbin Saints Junior Football League (nowSMJFL) in 1991, where it remains. Since that time, it has developeda reputation as one of the best administered and most professionaljunior clubs in the competition. In 2011, the club was responsiblefor the creation of the first AFL-sanctioned junior girls footballcompetition in Victoria, fielding four of the 12 teams thatcompeted in the Lightning Premiership, and winning the ultimateprize. In the same year, it fielded its first netball team, winningan Under 17 premiership.

With 25 teams, four of them junior girls sides, and a number ofnetball teams, it is almost unrecognisable from the early days.Certainly, the Club and its ground have seen many changes since1948 when facilities at Chisholm Reserve were non-existent Therewas no water, no toilets and no change rooms, and the oval did noteven have a fence around it. If a player overran the boundary heran the risk of being impaled on the spines of the boxthorn busheswhich surrounded the ground.

During this time the club has come up with some fantastic ideasand innovative plans to ensure the strength of the club continueslong in to the future.

One of the main areas the club was looking to improve on was theway in which it was currently communicating with its players,members, supporters and sponsors.

With a forward thinking and a dynamic board the club wasactively pursuing different methods which would enable them toimprove on their existing communication channels.

After conducting a review of all the options available to themthe club is pleased to announce the release of their first evernative mobile phone app for Android.

The app will be branded in the famous black and yellow of theEast Sandringham Junior Football Club and the content available tousers in the app will contain information about the club.
