Justin Randall Timberlake (born January31,1981) is an American singer, songwriter, actor and recordproducer.Born in Memphis, Tennessee, he appeared on the televisionshowsStar Search and The All-New Mickey Mouse Club as a child. Inthelate 1990s, Timberlake rose to prominence as one of the twoleadvocalists and youngest member of NSYNC, which eventually becameoneof the best-selling boy bands of all time. During thegroup'shiatus, Timberlake released his debut solo album,theR&B-focused Justified (2002), which included thesuccessfulsingles "Cry Me a River" and "Rock Your Body", and earnedhis firsttwo Grammy Awards.

His critically acclaimed second album,FutureSex/LoveSounds(2006), characterized by its wide range ofmusical influences,debuted atop the US Billboard 200 and producedthe Billboard Hot100 number-one singles "SexyBack", "My Love", and"What GoesAround... Comes Around". With his first two albumsexceeding salesof 10 million copies worldwide, he was establishedas one of themost commercially successful singers of the decade. Healso hascollaborated with other artists, including "Give It to Me"(withTimbaland) and "4 Minutes" (with Madonna). From 2008 through2012,Timberlake focused on his acting career, effectively puttinghismusic career on hiatus; he held starring roles in the filmsTheSocial Network, Bad Teacher, In Time, and Friends withBenefits.Timberlake resumed his music career in 2013 with his thirdandfourth albums The 20/20 Experience and The 20/20 Experience – 2of2, exploring neo soul styles with the song structures of 1960sand1970s rock. The former became the best-selling album of the yearinthe US with the largest sales week, and spawned thetop-threesingles "Suit & Tie" and "Mirrors", while the latterproducedthe top-ten song "Not a Bad Thing". In 2016, Timberlakewill voicethe lead character in DreamWorks Animation's Trolls,whichsoundtrack includes his fifth Billboard Hot 100chart-toppingsingle, "Can't Stop the Feeling!".

Cemented as a touring solo artist, Timberlake playsseveralinstruments in his live performances, accompanied by hisband, TheTennessee Kids. Time named him one of the 100 mostinfluentialpeople in the world in 2007 and 2013. Timberlake's workhas earnedhim numerous awards and accolades, including nine GrammyAwards,three Brit Awards, ten Billboard Music Awards, and fourEmmyAwards, the latter being for his appearances on SaturdayNightLive. His other ventures include record label TennmanRecords,fashion label William Rast, and the restaurants DestinoandSouthern Hospitality.
