Description

Crocheted flowers are useful andattractiveadditions to hats, bags, home decor and stuffed toys.They can bemade from small balls of leftover yarn and only takeabout half anhour for the average crocheter to make. A crochetedchrysanthemumwill brighten up a small girl's wardrobe in summer orwinter.

Make a loop, attach it to the hook and chain five. Attach theendof the chain to the beginning with a slip stitch.

Chain three. Make 15 double crochet stitches inside the ringthatyou created in step 1. Use a slip stitch to join the end ofthis rowto the top of the chain three, and turn.

Chain three, then make two double crochet flower stitches ineachstitch in the row. Connect the beginning and end of this rowwith aslip stitch. Chain three, and then turn. Make another rowexactlylike this one, ending with a chain three, and turn. You nowhavethree rows of the flower made.

Chain one, then single crochet in each stitch in this row.Fastenoff, and cut the yarn. Weave the loose end into thestitching sothat it doesn't show.

Use a yarn needle threaded with the same yarn as thecrochetflower to sew closed any openings that may be at the bottomof thecrochet flower. Tie the yarn ends into a square knot, andleaveabout 4 inches hanging on each end for tying onto a hat.
