Όπου χρόνος καιχώρος,επιστήμες και τέχνες, αλληλεπιδρούν, καθορίζουνκαιετεροκαθορίζονται, μεταμορφώνονται το ένα στο άλλο, γίνονταιάλλο,εξάλλου όλα σε σχέση δεν είναι σ’ αυτή τη ζωή;«Όλα σεσχέση»,σκεφτήκαμε και έγινε fractal.
Στην αρχή είχαμε μια επιθυμία, το ελάχιστο να ανήκει στο όλον.Καιένα όνομα. Στη συνέχεια, ο ένας «κολλούσε» τον άλλον. Ο Τάκηςμαςέδωσε το σταθερό ιστορικό πλαίσιο. Ο Γιάννης το μουσικό τέμπο.Οάλλος Γιάννης, θα έδινε πρόσωπο στο απρόσωπο. Η Πέρσα θαενώσεικουλτούρες. Ο Γιάννης μια εσάνς από rue des blancs manteaux.ΗΔανάη, παρότι η μικρότερη ξεκινούσε από τις αρχές του είδους.ΗΑγγελική με τα αρχαιολογικά της θ’ αναλάμβανε τη συνέχεια.ΟΔιονύσης, θα ενώσει ποίηση, μαθηματικά και τέχνη. Ο Αλέξανδρος,μιαυπόσχεση για την τεχνολογική εξέλιξη… κι όποτε ο έναςσκόνταφτε,σηκωνόταν ο άλλος. Οι δυο Γιάννηδες υπήρξαν και πράξημαζί αλλά καιυπόσχεση.
Ένα fractal μαζί σας κι εμείς υπό διαμόρφωση. Και για να τοορίσουμεκάπως, ένα κατ’ αρχάς διαδικτυακό περιοδικό όπουσυνυπάρχουμεδημοσιογράφοι, καλλιτέχνες, δημιουργοί, επιστήμονεςκαιπανεπιστημιακοί, παλιοί και καινούργιοι, γνωστοί και άγνωστοιφίλοι.Παραμένοντας ανοιχτοί όπως μόνο ένα παιδί, ενδεχομένως,στοενδεχόμενο.
Το ζητούμενο, εκείνο το άρρητο και το άδηλο που συνενώνει ταπάντα:την ιστορία με την καθημερινότητα, την λογοτεχνία με ταμαθηματικά,τη χημεία με την ποίηση, την αρχιτεκτονική με τημουσική, εμάς μεεσάς. Σαν ένα fractal που συνεχίζεται από τηνγέννηση έως τοάπειρο, ένα ανοιχτό πείραμα- αίνιγμα όπως ακριβώςείναι καιπαραμένει η ζωή.

Το νέο ψηφιακό περιοδικό fractal γεννήθηκε από τιςεπιτακτικέςανάγκες μιας καθ” όλα εθελοντικής ομάδας συμπολιτών,απαλλαγμένηςαπό κάθε υλική σκοπιμότητα, για περιγραφή και κατανόησηχαοτικώνκαταστάσεων που μας περιβάλλουν, μέσω των νέων διαδικτυακώνμορφώνέκφρασης και επικοινωνίας που σφραγίζουν τις μέρες μας. Καθώςηελληνική κοινωνία αλλάζει ραγδαία, με ορατές ή όχι διαδρομές,στουςβασικούς στόχους του είναι να συμβάλει, με διάφορους τρόπους,στησύλληψη των νέων πραγματικοτήτων, τόσο με στοχασμούςκαιαναστοχασμούς για το χθες, όσο και με διαφορετικές προσεγγίσειςγιατο σήμερα. Από την ιστορία ως τη λογοτεχνία και από την τέχνηωςτην επιστήμη.
Με την έννοια αυτή, και ως προς το περιεχόμενό του, φιλοδοξείνακαταστεί ένα πολιτισμικό πολυ-περιοδικό, που δεν κατατάσσεταισεκάποια κλασική θεματολογική κατηγορία.
Η λέξη fractal είναι δάνειο από την ομώνυμη θεωρία και ταγοητευτικάγεωμετρικά αντικείμενα, που χρησιμοποιούνται πια σχεδόνπαντού.Προσφέρεται κατεξοχήν για την «ταυτότητα» τουεγχειρήματος.
Τα fractal, ως μια γενίκευση των ευκλείδειων γεωμετρικώνσχημάτων,έκαναν δυνατή την περιγραφή πολύπλοκων δομών. Τοκυριότερο, όμως,είναι η βασική τους ιδιότητα, γνωστή ωςαυτο-ομοιότητα. Δηλαδή, μιαβασική δομή παραμένει η ίδια σε κάθεκλίμακα (από το πολύ μικρό ωςτο μεγάλο)· όπως οι ρώσικες κούκλεςματριούσκι...
