Lagu tarlingan adalah kesenian khas dariwilayah pesisir timur laut Jawa Barat (Indramayu-Cirebon dansekitarnya). Bentuk kesenian ini pada dasarnya adalah pertunjukanmusik, namun disertai dengan drama pendek. Nama "tarling" diambildari singkatan dua alat musik dominan: gitar akuistik dan suling.Selain kedua instrumen ini, terdapat pula sejumlah perkusi, saron,kempul, dan gong.

Tarlingan song is typicalart of the northeast coastal region of West Java (Indramayu-Cirebonand its surroundings). This art form is basically a musicalperformance, but is accompanied by a short drama. The name"Tarling" taken from the abbreviation of two dominant musicalinstruments: guitar and flute akuistik. In addition to the twoinstruments, there are also a number of percussion, saron, kempul,and gongs.
