Peter Pan is a character created by Scottish novelist andplaywright J. M. Barrie. A mischievous boy who can fly and neverages, Peter Pan spends his never-ending childhood adventuring onthe small island of Neverland as the leader of his gang, the LostBoys, interacting with mermaids, Indians, fairies, pirates, andoccasionally ordinary children from the world outside of Neverland.In addition to two distinct works by Barrie, the character has beenfeatured in a variety of media and merchandise, both adapting andexpanding on Barrie's works.

Sir James Matthew Barrie, 1st Baronet OM (9 May 1860 – 19 June1937), more commonly known as J. M. Barrie, was a Scottish novelistand dramatist. He is best remembered for creating Peter Pan, theboy who refused to grow up, whom he based on his friends, theLlewelyn Davies boys. He is also credited with popularising thename "Wendy", which was very uncommon before he gave it to theheroine of Peter Pan.
