Our colourful property history has been painted by variouscompelling leaders, one of whom being entrepreneurial John Fletcherwho has been CEO of the company since 2010. Initially acquiring afamily run Estate Agency with a single branch, John’s unshakeabledrive and leadership has made Miller Metcalfe what we are today,transforming the well-known brand into a broadly based propertyconsultancy with multiple branches across the North West and a teamof surveyors across England and Wales.

John’s passion for excellent customer service and a winningmentality attracted our ambitious team who share the same vision,and together we are helping to shape the future of MillerMetcalfe.

The business was formed in 1891 as ‘Thomas Crompton and Son’,with offices in Horwich and Bolton. By 1952 we were known as‘Aubrey, Lee and Miller.’ The now recognisable ‘Miller Metcalfe,’was born when Stanley Miller and Colin Metcalfe joined us in theearly 1970s.

In 1982, Andrew and Lesley Thompson bought the business and thename changed once again to ‘Miller Metcalfe Thompson.’ Shortlyafter, in the mid-1980s, a merger with Carlton Kirkpatrick and Coled to the name change to ‘Miller Metcalfe Kirkpatrick.

In 2005, after the sudden death of Andrew Thompson, LesleyThompson’s brother, John Fletcher bought the business and becameChairman. Today, an unwavering passion, steadfast ambition and amantra of, ‘work hard, play hard’ form the approach our proud teamof ‘Mpeople’ aspire to. We recruit people who share our companyvalues and our passion for delivering the best, creating a legacywe are proud of.
