Our location gives you great access to many places aroundthe area. To the east, we are minutes away from downtownCharleston, the State Capital, Appalachian Power Park along withthe University of Charleston and Yeager Airport. To the west youwill find Tri-State Greyhound Park and West Virginia StateUniversity.

South Charleston offers a great variety of shopping. Whichincludes the Wal-Mart Shopping Center on Corridor G as well as theShops of Trace Fork; these two areas offer many large departmentstores and restaurants. Our downtown and Spring Hill businessdistrict areas also offer a variety of shops, hotels andrestaurants. Located in the heart of South Charleston is theRiverwalk Plaza which is anchored by Krogers and surrounded by manyshops and eateries.
Our city is well known for its quality of service offered in allareas. We are very proud of the recreation facilities we have tooffer. From the South Charleston Community Center which offers a 25meter indoor pool, a full gymnasium and racquetball courts. Alongwith a health club, tanning beds, party rooms it also offersexercise classes. To the South Charleston Memorial Ice Arena, thisfacility has a full size arena, an arcade and a heated seatingarea. Also available here are party rooms, learn to skate classesand offers youth and adult hockey leagues. We also have the LittleCreek Golf Course which is an 18 Hole Championship course with afull service restaurant and bar, ballroom facilities for partiesand receptions that also have catering services available. In thesummer months we have an outdoor pool for your enjoyment as well.Probably our best kept secret is Little Creek Park. This beautiful250 acre park has it all. From picnic shelters, hiking trails toplaygrounds. Also hidden among the natural settings are fivebaseball and softball fields and both soccer and football fields aswell. There is also an active competitive soap box derby trackwhich holds meets here every year. So for whatever your recreationneeds may be South Charleston has it all available to you for youruse.

We have a great future planned in South Charleston. There aremany plans for growth in our business communities and we are veryprogressive in our City government. For example, South Charlestonwill be the first in the State to offer all business districts awireless access. There are many other plans for future SouthCharleston.
