Big Spring Country Club was established in1926by Harry Dumesnil and Alvah H. Terry. The Club was namedforBeargrass Creek, which is located just below the 13th greenandruns through holes 6, 7 & 12. Located on 163 acres andeasilyaccessible from both I-64 and the Watterson Expressway, BigSpringCountry Club has provided families and individuals intheLouisville Metro Area an exclusive home to enjoy finedining,championship golf, unparalleled swimming and tennisfacilities andfellowship and camaraderie among its members foralmost 90 years.

Big Spring features a challenging 18-hole championship-stylegolfcourse, full-length driving range and practiceareas,state-of-the-art tennis complex with four hard courts andfour claycourts, junior Olympic sized swimming pool with two 1meter divingboards and a beautiful Clubhouse for all of your diningand socialneeds. Harmony Landing Country Club planted its roots in 1929, whenJohnC. Pierce and some friends purchased 180 acres of farm inOldhamCounty and started a golf club called Green Fields CountryClub.George Davies, a nationally known architect at the time,wascontracted to lay out an 18-hole golf course, which operatedforseveral years. Unfortunately, as the great depression loomed,theproject ulitmately failed.

In the fall of 1952, several interested people met toconsiderthe possibility of starting a new Country Club east ofLouisville.the 430 acre farm that was located now on HarmonyLanding Road waschosen, and Mr. Davies was located to put thecourse back intocondition. The Articles of Incorporation forHarmony LandingCountry Club were filed on September 19, 1953.

Harmony Landing features a unique 18-hole championship-stylegolfcourse, full-length driving range and practice areas, activetenniscomplex with six clay courts, junior-Olympic sized swimmingpoolwith diving boards, a gorgeous Clubhouse and convenientcasualdining options for our members and guests.

In April of 2014, Big Spring Country Club and HarmonyLandingCountry Club merged into one consolidated Club, giving ourmembersaccess to two beautiful facilites for one membership andmaking BigSpring Country Club, Inc. the premier family country clubin theLouisville area.
