Singapore Chinese Orchestra (SCO) isSingapore’s only professional Chinese orchestra. Inaugurated in1997, the 85-musician orchestra took on the twin role of preservingtraditional arts and culture and establishing new frontiers throughthe incorporation of Nanyang music elements in its repertoire. SCOhas impressed a broadening audience with its blockbusterpresentations and is fast establishing itself among itscounterparts around the world. Known for its high performancestandards and versatility, the SCO is recognized throughinvitations to perform at numerous prestigious events locally andinternationally. In line with its vision to be a world-renownedpeople’s orchestra, SCO continues to inspire, educate andcommunicate through its music.
