Description

Lartiste (born 4 July 1985) is a Moroccan-bornsinger, rapper and songwriter living in France.

Born as Youssef Akdim in a small town south of Marrakesh, Morocco,he emigrated to France at age 8 residing in Bondy, and later in LeBlanc-Mesnil, outside of Paris. At age 13, he became part of a rapband Malédiction and at 16 adopted the stage name Lartiste ("l'artiste " - "the artist" in English). He also became a musicinstructor in Montfermeil.

He released "Evasion", his first maxi solo in 2006 and joined thecollective French Cut releasing a mixtape Rap 1.9 in 2010. Goingsolo, his 2013 studio album called Lalbum ( l'album - " album " inenglish) introduced various musical influences including funk,soul, pop, electro and African sounds. In April 2015, he releasedhis second studio album Fenomeno and in March 2016, he released histhird album, "Maestro".
