In Neapolitan cuisine, the main Easter dishes are the casatielloortortano, a salty pie made with bread dough stuffed withvarioustypes of salami and cheese, also used the day after Easterforoutdoor lunches. Typical of Easter lunches and dinners isthefellata, a banquet of salami and capocollo and saltyricotta.Typical dishes are also lamb or goat baked with potatoesand peas.Easter cake is the pastiera.
In Russia, red eggs, kulich and paskha are Easter traditions.
In Greece the traditional meal is mageiritsa, a hearty stewofchopped lamb liver and wild greens seasoned withegg-and-lemonsauce. Traditionally, Easter eggs, hard-boiled eggsdyed bright redto symbolize the spilt Blood of Christ and thepromise of eternallife, are cracked together to celebrate theopening of the Tomb ofChrist.
In Ukraine there are several traditional foods includingpaska(bread) and cheesecake desserts.[1]
