With this app, students can learn about andwrite haiku, a popular Japanese poem that traditionally has threelines of 5, 7, and 5 syllables. They begin by brainstorming wordsfor their poem, and then they compose their poem with attention tohow many syllables they’ve written for each line. The final stepallows students to customize the design of their poem with one ofthe provided artistic backgrounds or by uploading their own image.

Saving capability allows students to return to their work andmake revisions. Final work can be shared via e-mail or saved to thedevice's camera roll.

Designed for use in the school environment, this app features asimple profile system so that multiple users can create and storetheir own haiku poems on the same device without confusion.

This app mirrors our web-based student interactive Haiku Poems,so users familiar with one can easily adapt to the other. In fact,the two are so similar that users can send their editable .rwtfiles to an email address and then open their haiku poem right inthe online tool!
