Description

PLEASE NOTE! This is a version of QuantumSpectre designed for use in the EdGE Leveling Up study of 2015 andis only accessible to people enrolled in the study. If you are notin the study, please download our game called "Quantum Spectre byEdGE".

In the depths of space, containment fields are degrading andspectres are threatening to break free. To re-establishcontainment, you must solve laser puzzles. Use mirrors, lenses, andmore to guide laser beams to colored targets in this scientificallyaccurate and wildly cool laser game. Watch out for the spectres...they will haunt you.

Quantum Spectre challenges players to solve increasingly trickypuzzles. Each new puzzle requires players to demonstrate a deeperintuition about the behavior of light and an understanding of theoptics tools. Quantum Spectre is part of the Leveling Upcollection, developed by EdGE to support and measure sciencelearning in games people choose to play in their free time.

EdGE — On the edge of science and play! The Educational GamingEnvironments group (EdGE) at TERC hopes to show that learninghappens in all kinds of places by investigating thepossibilities—and challenging the assumptions—of game-basedlearning environments. EdGE is designing and studying games whosemechanics mirror real scientific phenomena, but more importantly, are fun to play.
