A convenient and very easy to use calculatorto obtain the number of sheets of plasterboard, or sheetrock,required for any given wall or ceiling area.

This calculator shows the minimum number of sheets or boards butsuggests an extra 10% for wastage but for very awkward areas youmay need to increase this to 15%.

There are three radio buttons to choose the common sheetdimensions and there is also an "Exclude" data entry box to allowyou to deduct areas for doors and windows. You will need to roughlywork out how many square metres this will be beforehand.

It should be noted that the underlying algorithm works out bestfit which is easier if the ceiling heights are less than a boardheight.

Plasterboard also is known as sheetrock, wallboard, gypsumboard, or LAGYP.
