It presents an analyticalapproach to the class struggle (historical and present) and theproblems of capitalism, rather than a prediction of communism'spotential future forms.

The book contains Marx and Engels' Marxist theories about thenature of society and politics, that in their own words, "Thehistory of all hitherto existing society is the history of classstruggles". It also briefly features their ideas for how thecapitalist society of the time would eventually be replaced bysocialism, and then eventually communism.
