Description

In Mad Slug 4: Advanced Mission, The evilBossHydra and his rebel army has launched a coup d'état on theworld'sgovernments, and all attempts by the armies of thevariouscountries to curtail his growing power fail. His most recentattackhas given him access to a new form of all-terrain combatSuperAircraft. In a last effort to stop evil Hydra, Ace CaptainStevenis sent to locate and eliminate his powerbase, as well asreclaimor destroy any evil weapon they can find so as to keepthetechnology out of Hydra's hands. After battling their waythroughhordes of Hydra's soldiers, the duo eventually face offagainstHydra himself, in a heavily armored helicopter. Afterdefeating thehelicopter and killing Hydra, they destroy his baseofoperations.
The player must shoot constantly at a continual stream of enemiesinorder to reach the end of each level. At this point, theplayerconfronts a boss, who is usually considerably larger andtougherthan regular enemies. On the way through each level, theplayer canfind numerous weapon upgrades, In addition to shooting,the playercan also perform melee attacks by using a pan. The playerdoes notdie simply by coming into contact with enemies,andcorrespondingly, many of the enemy troops also have meleeattacks.Much of the game's scenery is also destructible, andoccasionally,this reveals extra items or power-ups, although mostof the time itsimply results in collateral damage.
During the course of a level, the player also encounters POWs,who,if freed, offer the player bonuses in the form of random itemsorweapons. At the end of each level, the player receives ascoringbonus based on the number of freed POWs. If the player diesbeforethe end of the level, the tally of freed POWs revertstozero.
In Mad Slug 4: Advanced Mission, There are a total of threestages,in locations such as river, mountain valleys, and militarybases.The vast majority of enemies are soldiers equipped withweaponrybefitting their specific role. There are also severalmechanizedenemies, such as tanks, mobile artillery, aircraft,armoredpersonnel carriers and technicals. Much of the game's humorcomesfrom how the enemies are depicted; the player often encountersthemas they are sunbathing, roasting food over a fire, orsimplyconversing amongst themselves. They also tend to screamloudly ifthey see the player, and often try to run away.
