Description

The CNC milling machine simulator is a multimediaapplicationdesigned to provide a basic introduction to beginnermechanicalengineering professionals with the principles ofprogrammingoperations for milling parts using a standard (ISO)G-code. Themain task of the application is syntactic analysis(parsing) of thecode of control programs in order to build agraphical model ofcutting tool trajectories in three-dimensionalspace. The mainfunctions of the application: editing the code ofthe controlprograms of the milling machine, operations with filesof controlprograms, setting the geometric parameters of the cuttingtool,continuous/step-by-step execution of blocks of controlprograms,three-dimensional visualization of tool movements in theworkingspace of the machine, simplified visualization of themachinedsurface of the part, calculation of processing modes, aquickreference guide to using G-code. The main limitations oftheapplication are: low accuracy of cutting surface modeling,theimpossibility of using polygonal geometry as a workpiece,asimplified model of machine tooling elements.
