Description

ZeroTier One for Android allows you to joinZeroTier virtual networks as VPN connections on your Android phoneor tablet device.

ZeroTier creates peer to peer virtual Ethernet networks that workanywhere. It's used as a faster alternative to VPNs, to provide aseamless hybrid or multi-site/multi-provider cloud backplane, forremote collaboration and distributed teams, and for Internet ofThings (IoT) applications to provide direct end-to-end connectivityto specialized devices.

See https://www.zerotier.com/ for more information and clients forother platforms including Linux, Macintosh, Windows, and BSD Unix.ZeroTier's core engine is open source and can be found here:https://github.com/zerotier/ZeroTierOne

This app provides virtual network endpoint functionality forAndroid mobile devices. To join a virtual network from an Androiddevice:

(1) Install the app, launch it, and click the "connect" button inthe bottom right corner. This toggles whether or not ZeroTier isonline.

(2) If you want to use cellular data, tap the wrench button(preferences) and check the appropriate box. Otherwise only WiFidata will be used and the connection will go offline when oncellular.

(3) Tap the plus sign button (join a network) in the top bar andenter the 16-digit ZeroTier network ID of the network you want tojoin.

There are currently two limitations, both of which will likelydisappear in the future:

(1) Right now due to Android API limitations you can only join onenetwork at a time. Joining a new network will leave the previousone. The app maintains a history of networks you've joined so it'seasy to switch.

(2) The Android client currently doesn't support IPv6 addressing onnetworks and will ignore IPv6 address assignments. (It will, however, communicate over the IPv6 Internet with other peers ifpossible.)
