Located in Riggins, Idaho (the lower Idaho panhandle), the Salmon River School District 243 has a K-12 enrollmentof approximately 125 students, a full time principal and 14teachers. The district is committed to improving student learningand achievement at all levels.

The Salmon River School District is nestled in a deep mountaincanyon with the Main and Little Salmon rivers running at itsdoorstep and just west is the Snake River, giving its reputation,“The Whitewater Capital” of Idaho. Recreational opportunitiesabound, making our area a natural learning habitat. Wildgame–including elk, deer, bear, wild turkey, grouse, chukar–and thebest Chinook salmon and steelhead fishing in Idaho abound in thenational forest areas and waters that make up our backyard. Rigginshas a mild winter climate, but is only an hour away from major skiareas. Riggins is 150 miles north of Boise and 110 miles south ofLewiston.
