You don't need to have access to the internet. It just uses gpsto tell you the direction.
Please note that this app also uses the magnetometer of your devicefor processing. Your device MUST have magnetometer in order to findthe direction. If your device does not have magnetometer, this appwill just give you the angle of Kaaba with respect to true northand your distance from Kaaba. You can then use that angle to findQiblah.
