調理師とは、「食品の調理技術の合理的な発達を図り、もって国民の食生活の向上に資することを目的とするための日本独自の国家資格であり、名称独占資格（有資格者以外はその名称を名乗れない資格）である。」と規定されています。

調理師の免許がありますと、基本的な調理技術や知識があるという判断材料になるため、就職先によっては有利になります。

調理を行う職業につく場合はもちろんのこと、飲食店の接客業でも役立ちます。

又、家庭でも技術や知識を生かせるので、料理をする上での自信にもつながるでしょう。

そして、調理師の免許の取得方法には次の2つの方法があります。
（1）調理師養成施設を修了する
厚生労働大臣が指定する調理師養成施設
（いわゆる調理師専門学校）を卒業すること。
（2）調理師試験に合格する
中学校卒業後２年以上給食施設、飲食店、魚介類販売業、
