For devices equipped with a barometer / pressure sensor,thisapplication uses the Atmospheric Pressure measured by yourphone tocalculate the Sea Level Adjusted Barometric Pressure atyourlocation. Temperature and Altitude, also used in thecalculation,are obtained by matching your position against weatherand altitudesurvey databases. These values are more reliable thanthe valuesreturned from your GPS chip and your phone's temperaturesensor andmay result in a more meaningful barometric pressurereading.
Atmospheric pressure, sometimes also called barometric pressure,isthe pressure exerted by the weight of air in the atmosphereofEarth. Low-pressure areas have less atmospheric mass abovetheirlocation, whereas high-pressure areas have more atmosphericmassabove their location.
