Stay up to date with the recent developmentsinneuro-rehabilitation. The NeuroRehab Lab is aninterdisciplinaryresearch group of the University of Madeira thatinvestigates atthe intersection of technology, neuroscience andclinical practiceto find novel solutions to increase the quality oflife of thosewith special needs. We are actively researching at theintersectionof the fields of SERIOUS GAMES, REHABILITATION andNEUROSCIENCE todevelop low cost interactive rehabilitationsolutions for patientsthat have special needs after a brain lesion.In the last decades,important neuroscientific findings havecontributed to theunderstanding of specific brain mechanisms thatrelate tofunctional recovery. These findings allowed the emergenceof novelrehabilitation techniques targeting specifically lesions oftheCentral Nervous System. Novel ICT technologies offer ustheopportunity to approach motor and cognitive rehabilitation bymeansof non-invasive systems that can be used to train our braintoregain lost functionality after a lesion to the CentralNervousSystem.
