The origins ofcountrymusic are the folk music of mostly white, working-classAmericans,who blended popular songs, Irish and Celtic fiddletunes,traditional ballads, and cowboy songs, and variousmusicaltraditions from European immigrant communities. In 2009countrymusic was the most listened to rush hour radio genre duringtheevening commute, and second most popular in the morning commuteinthe United States.
