Description

The WPA is an association of nationalpsychiatric societies aimed to increase knowledge and skillsnecessary for work in the field of mental health and the care forthe mentally ill. Its member societies are presently 135, spanning117 different countries and representing more than 200,000psychiatrists.

The WPA organizes the World Congress of Psychiatry every threeyears. It also organizes international and regional congresses andmeetings, and thematic conferences. It has 65 scientific sections,aimed to disseminate information and promote collaborative work inspecific domains of psychiatry. It has produced several educationalprogrammes and series of books. It has developed ethical guidelinesfor psychiatric practice, including the Madrid Declaration(1996).

The event is scheduled on 25-27 of September 2015 at Kochi.
