Description

The Activity Tracker is a device designedforthe parents of the Admirals Hockey Club in order to tracktheirchild’s on-ice activities.

The Admirals Hockey Club is the first and only ModelHockeyAssociation in Illinois and one of only 17 Model Associationsinthe nation.

In order to attain this status, the Admirals have adoptedUSAHockey’s American Development Model (ADM) across all ageandability levels.

The Admirals believe that every minute of ice-time isvaluableand important for the development of young hockey players.To thatend, the Admirals Hockey Club has provided this applicationso thatparents can track their child’s activity during a practiceorgame.

There are two types of features with this application:

• Stop watch features
• Counters

Stop watch features are designed to track the amount ofsecondsor minutes spent on a given activity. For these, hit the“start”button when an activity begins to occur, and the “end”button whenthe activity is complete. Starts and stops can occurduring thecourse of a game or practice, and the app will track thetotal timedevoted to an activity.

Counter features are designed to tally the number of timesanactivity or action occurs. For these, hit the “+” key when anitemoccurs. If you make an error in counting, simply tap the “-“key toerase the count.

This application includes:

• A stop watch to track the amount of time a coachspendsexplaining drills and concepts.
• A stop watch to track the amount of time a child isskating(moving).
• A counter to track the number of pass attempts, or a pass inwhichthe child activity tries to get the puck to anotherplayer,regardless of whether or not the pass was successful.‘Dumping thepuck’ or blind passes should not be considered passattempts.
• A counter to track the number of passes received.
• A counter to track the number of shots taken on goal.
• A stop watch to track the amount of time the child has controlofthe puck.
• A counter to track the number of times a coach providesdirectfeedback to a child.

Parents can use this app to track activity at a practice oragame. In addition, parents can use the app to track activityatanother team’s practice or games. Though the app is designedforhockey, it can be used to track activity at other sports(eitherpractices or games).

Information gathered in the tracking app is saved and canberetrieved within the app, so that parents can compare theresultsof a practice versus a game, or compared the results oftheirteam’s practice versus the practice of another hockeyclub.
