The East Burwood Football Club is acommunity-based club fostering the game of Australian Rulesfootball. The Clubs home ground is the East Burwood Reserve, whichis located between Blackburn & Springvale Roads on BurwoodHighway, East Burwood. Melways Reference 62 B7.

The Club was formed in 1910 and in 1911 began playing in the BoxHill Reporter District Football Association. In those days EastBurwood was an extremely rural area of mainly fruit and flowergrowers who also produced an abundance of footballers. As all clubsdo, our club has seen so many families names like Fankhauser,Tainton, Mullens, help build the family tradition on which the clubis still founded today. Indeed the senior Best & Fairestrecipient is now awarded the Colin Tainton Medal. You will find aroad named after this family across the road from the ground.

The family values and succession on which EBFC was founded havehelped make our club one of the most respected metropolitan clubsin Australia. East Burwood has been a highly successful clubwinning premierships in almost every decade since its inception.The first premiership came in 1929 and was followed by triumphs in1930 in the Scoresby District Football Association, 1932 and 1933in the Federal League. During the war years 1939-1945, only alimited season was played and no individual awards or premiershipswere given.

EBFC who has also taken on the name of the RAMS, has now won 18senior premierships with 12 being in the EDFL or now known as theEFL. In the last half of last century, our club has won apremiership in every decade. This is an outstanding record and oneof which we can all be duly proud.

The club has also made an impact at AFL level with many of ourplayers over the years being selected to play in the U’18 TACCompetition with the Eastern Rangers and Oakleigh Chargers.

During this time the club has come up with some fantastic ideasand innovative plans to ensure the strength of the club continueslong in to the future.

One of the main areas the club was looking to improve on was theway in which it was currently communicating with its players,members, supporters and sponsors.

With a forward thinking and a dynamic board the club wasactively pursuing different methods which would enable them toimprove on their existing communication channels.

After conducting a review of all the options available to themthe club is pleased to announce the release of their first evernative mobile phone app for Android
